BRAILLO 650 SW2 Braille Embosser

BRAILLO 650 SW2

The ideal production embosser for semi-automated braille book and magazine creation

The Braillo 650 SW2 braille embosser supports both two-page-per-sheet (front/back) and four-page-per-sheet (book/magazine) formats. Using braille paper in roll format, it is ideal for producing braille magazines, textbooks, and newspapers, while retaining the flexibility to emboss individual sheets as needed. When embossing in magazine format, a row of dots is printed in the center of the page to facilitate folding. Each copy is also separated into signatures, making it easy to collect and bind according to your preferred method.

A key feature of Braillo embossers—especially valuable during social distancing—is their network capability, allowing transcribers to send files remotely. With the 650 SW2’s long uninterrupted runtime, a single operator can efficiently manage the printer, collecting and binding finished braille documents with minimal supervision.

Continuous Feed Braille Paper

Highest Quality Braille Paper

Since 1988, in collaboration with American Thermoform Corporation, Braillo has manufactured its own custom braille paper, produced in accordance with the highest industry standards. The result is a strong, durable, low-dust, chemical-free paper designed to produce crisp, well-defined braille dots that retain their shape after being read multiple times.

In addition to delivering superior readability, the paper’s exceptional quality also helps reduce wear on your braille embosser, contributing to extended equipment life and consistent performance over time. Learn more about our braille paper.

Braillo Leading 4 Year Warranty

Leading Warranty In the Industry

Braillo’s 4 year embosser warranty is the most comprehensive in the industry…

Braillo covers the first 3 years
For all Braillo models, the standard warranty covers any defective mechanical and electrical component from the date of delivery throughout the first three years, or up to 8,000 hours – whichever comes first.  This amounts to up to 15.6 million braille pages.  By the time most embossers have become obsolete or stopped working, Braillo embossers are still under warranty!

Braillo adds an additional 1 year for using Braillo/ATC braille paper
Braillo will offer an additional 1 year to the standard warranty by using Braillo/ATC braille paper.  The use of poor quality braille paper often causes excessive wear and tear on an embosser, which causes parts to fail prematurely.  Using Braillo/ATC’s specially formulated braille paper will help ensure these risks are minimized.

This brings the total warranty to 4 years, or up to 10,700 hours and 20.8 million embossed braille pages.

BRAILLO 650 SW2 Product Details

BRAILLO 650 SW2 Product Description

The Braillo 650 SW2 braille embosser features a precision paper cutter for two- or four-page-per-sheet formats and a conveyor belt engineered for large-format production. This heavy-duty embosser is ideal for creating braille magazines and textbooks. As documents reach the conveyor belt, they are separated into “signatures,” allowing the user to easily remove, fold, and prepare them for binding. Using braille paper rolls helps reduce costs and eliminates the need for a burster and operator. Each roll produces approximately 15,000 braille sheets (30,000 interpoint pages), enabling a full day of uninterrupted production without reloading paper.

Designed for high-volume production, the 650 SW2 embosses 1,950 pages per hour. Its robust construction supports continuous braille production while maintaining optimal dot quality. Operator-friendly features, streamlined setup, and heavy-duty components ensure consistent high-speed performance, while a four-year hassle-free warranty provides long-term peace of mind.

Built with production teams in mind, the 650 SW2 has a cable-free exterior, an emergency shutoff switch, and numerous alignment features to maximize efficiency and reliability. Drawing on decades of experience and customer feedback, Braillo has engineered one of the most advanced production braille embossers available.
