BRAILLO 650 SW2 Braille Embosser
The ideal production embosser for semi-automated braille book and magazine creation.
The Braillo 650 SW2 braille embosser produces both 2 (front/back) and 4 (book/magazine) page-per-sheet formats. Using braille paper in roll format, this embosser is ideal for creating braille magazines, textbooks or newspapers, but has the flexibility of embossing sheets, as well. If embossing in magazine format, a row of dots is printed in the middle of the page to make it easier to fold. Furthermore, each copy of a document is separated into signatures so that it is easy to collect and bind in your preferred method. A special feature of our embossers, and especially important during social distancing, is that they can be networked so that the transcribers are remotely sending files. Because the 650 SW2 can run interrupted for such a long period of time, a single person can then be with the printer collecting the finished braille documents and binding them.
Benefits of Owning a Braillo Embosser:
True Production Braille
In order to meet the heavy demands of true braille production, the embosser needs to be made of durable, high quality parts and components. Braillo is the only manufacturer of braille embossers that can deliver on this promise. See The Braillo Difference.
Free Duxbury Software
The world's most trusted and reliable braille translation software, Duxbury, is included free with the purchase of a Braillo braille printer. See Details
Highest Quality Braille Paper
For over 30 years, Braillo has produced their own custom braille paper that adheres to the highest standards available. The end result is a strong, durable, low-dust, chemical-free paper that will not only produce a superior braille dot, but will ensure the braille dot holds its shape over many uses. Additionally, because of its quality, it will also help extend the life of your Braillo embosser. See our Braille Paper
Leading Warranty In the Industry
For all Braillo models, our standard warranty covers every defective mechanical and electrical component from the date of purchase throughout the first three years, or up to 8,000 hours – whichever comes first. This amounts to up to 15.6 million braille pages. By the time most embossers have become obsolete or stopped working, Braillo embossers are still under warranty!
We add an additional 1 year for using Braillo/ATC braille paper
Braillo will offer an additional 1 year to the standard warranty by using Braillo/ATC braille paper with your embosser. The use of poor quality braille paper often causes excessive wear and tear on an embosser, which causes parts to fail prematurely. Using Braillo/ATC’s specially formulated braille paper will help ensure these risks are minimized.
This brings the total warranty to 4 years, or up to 10,700 hours. This amounts to up to 20.8 million braille pages. This is the industry’s most comprehensive and rich warranty, and shows that we stand behind our braille embossers – no matter what. Learn more about our industry leading warranty.

BRAILLO 650 SW2 Product Details
BRAILLO 650 SW2 Product Description
The Braillo 650 SW2 braille embosser employs a paper cutter for two or four page-per-sheet format, and a conveyor belt engineered to handle large format production. This heavy-duty embosser is ideal for creating both braille magazines and textbooks – once the brailled documents reach the conveyor belt, they are separated by “signatures” and the user will then remove and fold the sheets into magazine/book format ready for binding. Using paper rolls helps to save money on paper expenses and also eliminates the need for a burster and its operator. Each roll yields roughly 15,000 braille sheets (30,000 interpoint pages) – simply stated, the user can run at full production 1 roll/day without having to load paper into the embosser.
The Braillo 650 SW2 has been designed and built for high production volumes that customers demand. This embosser prints at 1,950 pages-per-hour and is therefore built and designed with robust components necessary to handle the increased Braille production operating requirements. This extremely heavy-duty construction allows for continuous braille production while maintaining optimal braille quality. This construction, the operator usability features and easy setup will enable your business to emboss braille continuously while maintaining optimal braille quality. Backed by a no hassle 4 year warranty, the Braillo 650 SW2 will allow your business to profitably grow and deliver the best reading experience to your end users.
These embossers are built with your production team in mind – the entire unit is free of external cables, there is an emergency shutoff switch and has numerous features to ensure the system is perfectly aligned for optimal high speed performance. We have taken decades of experience and customer feedback to create the most advanced production braille embosser available.
As your braille production needs increase, Braillo has a production braille embosser that will meet your needs and exceed your expectations.
