Why Distributors Choose To Sell Braillo Embossers
Distributors often ask, why should I sell Braillo over a competing product? If I can make more money selling a competing product, why not sell that? I can buy a few smaller embossers from other manufacturers for the price of 1 Braillo, why not do that? The answers are simple – there really isn’t a competing product to a Braillo production embosser.
Why Should I sell Braillo over a competing product?
Braillo is the only company that builds true production braille embossers. Braillo embossers are built with one goal in mind – to produce the industry’s best braille over decades of use. Other companies can sell high speed embossers, but they aren’t production embossers, they are simply faster personal printers with the same small, plastic parts. Just because other embossers are supposedly fast, it certainly doesn’t make them production embossers. In fact, in nearly all instances, these other embossers fail because the components can’t handle the increased speed. If your customer is serious about braille production, Braillo is the only company that can meet their needs.
I can make more money selling a competing product, why not sell that?
Sure, you can make more money selling a competing product, but what happens when that product fails because it can’t do what your customer needs it to? Furthermore, who covers your costs when you must go back and replace components during warranty? What if you aren’t local and you have to get on a flight? Sadly, we see this all too often and the distributor comes back to us and says “I should have sold a Braillo”. But then, it’s too late, their customer has already spent their hard-earned money on an embosser that doesn’t work, and you, the distributor, has to support it otherwise your reputation is at stake. Remember, initial profit on a sale isn’t everything. Braillo distributors can rest assured that when they install a Braillo, it works as advertised.
I can sell a few personal embossers from other manufacturers for the price of 1 Braillo, why not do that?
While this is true and okay for smaller customers or production jobs, the customer is still going to run into the same issues listed above. Running 4 personal printers to complete with our Braillo 300 S2, or running 7 personal printers to compete with our 650 series embossers is doable, but running that many personal printers hour after hour, day after day, will cause them to fail. Personal embossers are just that – embossers meant for small jobs throughout the day, not for continued embossing. Trying to manage many personal printers (loading paper, letting them cool down, sending correct files to each, repairing them after failure, etc) is tedious, labor intensive, expensive and the likelihood of errors and embosser failure is huge. All of this equals downtime and expenses. Sending files to one Braillo is easier, and the embosser is totally capable of handling the workload.
It’s important to remember that although you can possibly make more money initially selling another embosser – what is your reputation worth? What is your time worth? Do you want repeat business? Do you want referral business? Braillo is admired worldwide, and we have always treated our distributors and customers with the respect they deserve. Our 30+ year track record of success backs this up. If you’re in the braille industry, you have heard the horror stories associated with other manufacturers – don’t make the same mistake.
